Storylines

Right now there is no storyline for this forum. And as for the Hinata Festival, I will put it back up once we have more participants to join it next time around. Also there is a arc forming amongst members and though usually only forum wide storylines are posted up here, I will link to the Code Geass side arc some of us are doing. Please post your participation for those who are interested.

 Hinata Sou RPG (Role-Playing) Rules
« Thread Started on Mar 23, 2008, 9:31pm »

RPG (Role Playing) Rules:

1. More than one character- I'm going to be nice and let you all select four characters you want to RP from Love Hina. Remember you do NOT have to register these characters. Just simply pick which one you want and it's yours but as for original characters that you create, you can make as many as you want. There is no longer a limit to how many characters you can create. Just only a limit to how many series characters you can ask for. If this gets out of hand the character limit will go back down to twenty as it originally was.

2. Character Page List- We do not put characters in our signatures anymore and so now that everyone can RP up to an unlimited supply of their own original RP characters, you must create a character page list in the ‘Your RP Characters’ sub board in the ‘Register Your Character’ board. Though you must actually create a character, having already introduced yourself to the forum, then post your page list.. And if you wish to RP more characters on another account download the browsers Firefox, Opera, Flock, and Netscape Navigator 9. It helps when making multiple accounts.

3. Sexual Threads- This rule will be toned down a bit. Though if it is not necessary then please do not do one just to do it. Against TOS of proboards so keep your threads either toned down or rate them from G to X. Age limit ban has been removed. Please do not abuse this newly edited rule. Thank you.

4. Original RP Characters- You all are allow an amount of unlimited characters to role play if you do not want to RP a character from either series. Please be original when coming up with character names and if your start using your characters for the wrong reasons, they can be taken from you. Use Google to search for ‘Japanese Baby Names’.

5. RPing with other members- It is appropriate when asking a member if they would like to RP, if you would ask them ‘nicely’ and not in a demanding way. It’s not only rude but will make others not want to RP with you. Also, please switch up your RPing partners and try not to RP with the same people so much.

6. RPing Grammatically- Everyone is at least required to try and type a full two paragraphs or more when RPing when creating new threads for others to post in. Reason being because not many like to RP with those that post one liners. This means write at least 5-6 sentences per paragraph. So, no way around this rule. At least start your first reply off in a thread with someone with a small paragraph. And would also be much appreciated to type in complete sentences. So two paragraphs or more is required enough to be a post reply. Threads and reply posts must have proper English structure. This means using capital letters and punctuation where it is needed. Be careful of words that sound the same but are different. These are called homonyms. You can find several sites pertaining to words like these. If there are too many mistakes in your thread, staff will tell you to fix it, or they will fix it for you. Unless you are blind, there will be no excuses accepted.

7. RP Character Registration- When registering an RP character please make sure you follow the template examples in the 'Register Your Character' board under the template examples when doing so. And please do not give staff a hard time when it comes to then asking you to add more information to your character. Also do NOT post characters in the 'Character Page Lists ' sub board. Page Lists go there not RP Characters.

8. Character Trade Ins- Each month, all members get one extra trade in to add to what they’ve already got. New members however, start out with three trade ins while everyone else will have a different amount. You will, receive a PM notice in your inbox titled ‘Trade In Alert’, reminding you to give yourself an extra character trade for the new month. Only use your trade ins when you do not want one of your characters to RP anymore.

9. No God Modding - For those of you who do not know what this is, God modding is creating a perfect character. They have no weaknesses, their personalities are absolutely flawless, they cannot be killed (or simply return to life unless with good reason), have ungodly amounts of power, they know everything that's going on everywhere regardless as to where they currently are in relation to the event, controlling characters that don't belong to them, changing events that have not come to pass without permission from other members, and have the perfect plan to defeat every conflict. If someone is God Modding, they will be automatically labeled ‘Forum Traitor’ for a month so don’t do it.

10. Killing off Characters- Yes you’re allowed to kill off characters but no you’re not allowed to kill of someone else’s characters without their consent. Doing so will get yourself labeled ‘Forum Traitor’ and put on RP probation. However you’re more than welcome to kill off your own characters. Character deaths do not count against character trade ins.

11. Gender Problem- Since there is an imbalance of characters in the anime, everyone is allowed to RP whichever character of their choosing no matter the gender. However if it later becomes a problem, then the gender rule will have a ban put on it.

12. Accounts- Pretty much the same thing but everyone is allowed to make more than one account if they think they can handle it. But only create another account if you’re starting to run out of room on your first one or if you want to RP more series characters and you’ve already chosen enough of them on your first account and also as mentioned before to be active with all accounts that you make, just download 'FireFox, Opera, or Netscape Navigator 9, Flock browsers'.

13. Display Names - This rule is important. It helps me keep track of what characters have been chosen already. So if you've chosen a character from the show, your display name should only be of that character even if you have two other characters that you role-play. However, if you have not chosen a character from the series, then this rule doesn't apply to you but it will if you decide to change your mind in the near future of the forum. Though even if you do not have a series character, don’t go changing your display name to a random name that isn’t a character that’s not registered. Doing so will get you labeled ‘Forum Traitor’ if you don’t change it back to the original name that you had so the name matches with your rank color on your account.

14. Forum Traitor - If you are labeled 'Forum Traitor' for any reason, you are not allowed to RP until your label sentence is up. Your characters will have a strike through them so you can't use them until your two-week sentence is up. If I catch you doing so when you're not supposed to, I will add two months onto your sentence, meaning you won't be able to RP for a long, long, LONG time. And please don’t ask the staff when you can get off your RP Probation sentence because it’ll be in your custom title under your name where you can see it.

15. Non Role-Playing Member - You all will be labeled this when you first sign up on the board and it will only be changed after you’ve introduced yourself to the forum and registered a role playing character. I do this because I get those occasional members who like to register but don’t come back to use their accounts. So they will be labeled this until they decide to come back, however with you having two weeks to a month come back to use your account, that will more than likely not be possible. Now if you’re the type that doesn’t want to RP but you do enjoy or don’t mind being on the forum, please put something in your signature saying that ‘I am a member who wishes to stay a non role-playing member’ or something to that extent.

16. RP character parents|Other Anime Characters- If your RP character has parents stated within their bio, please make sure their parents are characters that make sense and not something ripped from two different animes. Also it would be helpful not to bring in so many other animes to 3.0. Reason being is because not all of them will fit into this environment of the forum. Some other animes are exceptions but not all of them.

17. RPing Forum Storylines- At least ONE of everyone’s characters must participate in a storyline. Reason is I know a lot of you like to do your own mini plot lines off to the side which is fine but when there's a forum wide storyline you're required to have at least one of your characters participate in it. If you don't have one that fits the storyline, you're more than welcome to create one.

18. Non Player Characters (NPCs)- NPCs are characters that you RP temporarily for a specific set forum storyline. These characters are not your regular RP characters. Once these characters have served their purpose, you remove them from your RP character list thread and it doesn't count against your Character Trade Ins. There is no limit to how many NPCs you can have but if you over do it and just register characters to be registering them, then I will set a character limit for them.

19. Signatures and Avatars- To be frank, this is being addressed before it even starts to get out of hand later on down the road. Signatures that are large enough to stretch the page when members post with you are not allowed. You'll be told to fix it and resize it yourself. If you don't do so, staff will remove the large signature from your account and you're not allowed to put it back up. If you're going to have a picture as your sig, it should not stretch over 500x300 pixels in size. If it does, that's too big. Second, is avatars. Everyone is allowed to have an avatar if you want one, however it needs to be a small one. Avatars that are extremely huge pictures would be considered too big. Why? Because they load up too slow. The required size for avatars is 100x100 or smaller. No bigger than that.

Thank you.
